The Structural Heart Intervention Registries are within the National Cardiac Audit Programme (NCAP). There are four structural heart intervention registries including Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Valve procedure (TMTV).

The NICOR Transcatheter Mitral & Tricuspid Valve registry collects data on all transcatheter interventions on the mitral and tricuspid valve carried out in NHS hospitals and some private sector hospitals in England.

The 2026 Interim Summary TMTV report (see below) covers 1 April to 30 September 2025. Hospital level data are to be found in the interactive version of the report.

The aim of the audit is to collect clinical and outcome data on structural heart intervention services carried out in the UK. This is a significant development and will enable identification of key metrics for benchmarking, improving care of patients undergoing these procedures and for the safe introduction of new technologies in this country. The audit is managed by NICOR, with clinical direction and strategy provided by national professional societies.

2026 Interim Summary Report Key findings:

Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Valve (TMTV) Registry: most commissioned hospitals are now submitting data but data quality from some hospitals needs to improve. 630 new cases have been reported to the registry for April to September 2025, 56% of which were mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repairs (TEERs). For the mitral TEER cases, 67% had no or mild mitral regurgitation following the procedure. Complication rates have been very low.
