PCI

Percutaneous coronary intervention: a technique to reopen a blocked coronary artery, also called angioplasty. Primary PCI means it is carried out as an emergency treatment for a heart attack, in which case it must be performed as soon as possible after the STEMI is diagnosed to prevent loss of heart muscle.
