The Way We Were: Lessons for service re-design
NICOR 2021 Annual Report Webinar
November 24th, 2021 13:00 GMT

Are you a clinician working to improve the detection and treatment of cardiovascular disease, one of the many key workers who works hard to keep the data flowing into the NICOR audits or a patient or member of the public interested in cardiovascular disease? Join our upcoming webinar to gain insights into key findings from the 2021 National Cardiac Audit Programme (NCAP) Annual Report and participate in discussions on initiatives needed to improve the quality of care for patients admitted to hospital with cardiovascular disease. The NCAP annual report outlines the national audit results across our six main sub-specialties for the 2019/20 financial year (or the 2017/18-2019/20 period for those analyses requiring a 3-year cycle).

The report highlights the state of play just as we entered the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, so much has happened. Many care pathways were disrupted whilst resources were diverted to maintaining or creating new services for emergency and urgent cases. The pandemic continues but in a different form following the vaccination programme. Integrated care systems, hospital and ambulance trusts are collectively dealing with the consequences, and establishing work programmes to deal with current requirements as well as the backlog.

The lessons of the NCAP prior to the pandemic are all highly relevant to the on-going re-design of services.

We very much hope you can join us to gather ideas on how to review your local results and consider actions for changes required.
