Join the millions helping researchers learn about the COVID-19 coronavirus

Researchers at King’s College London have developed a tracker app to collect data about COVID-19 from members of the public. We can all help in the fight against this international pandemic by downloading the COVID ZOE app and reporting daily, even if we feel well.

People with cardiovascular conditions are more vulnerable to the more severe complications of the illness, so it is especially important for researchers to collect data from people with these conditions. The information gathered may help explain some of the increased risk and thereby help with steps to reduce this. There is also an interactive map on the research website which gives an estimated percentage of people in your area who are symptomatic.

The app is endorsed by NHS England, as well as the NHS in the devolved nations, and 2.5 million people have so far downloaded it to participate in the research. When you first join up you are asked to answer a few short questions about yourself and your health. The researchers will then be able to gain a greater understanding of which population groups are at greater risk, which symptoms are common and how local outbreaks are spreading or reducing.
